With the Pacific stretching endlessly behind them, Melissa and Roger celebrated their wedding on the shores of Maui at Wailea Beach Resort. 3 days of celebrations.

An American couple bringing the people they love together in Hawaii, their celebration had that unmistakable island feeling - warm, relaxed and full of joy.

The ocean became the backdrop to everything. The ceremony overlooking the water, portraits in the soft Hawaiian light, the laughter between friends and family, and that incredible Maui sunset slowly changing the colour of the sky.

It was beautiful, of course.

There was space to laugh. Space to be together. Space to actually experience the place they had chosen and the people who had travelled there to celebrate with them.

And perhaps that is what makes destination weddings so special.

You can choose one of the most extraordinary places in the world, but ultimately, the destination simply creates the setting.
